I am a doctoral student & pastoral intern.
Presently, I am pursuing ordination with the Christian Reformed Church in North America and am open to a call just about anywhere. Even though I am working towards my PhD, I feel strongly called to ministry.
Concerning academia, I am particularly interested in how folk of different religious traditions can productively work together in an intentionally pluralistic environment towards solving global ethical issues (migration, climate change, economics, war, etc.). For example: what does an interreligious ethic of hospitality look like, and what are its requirements/limits? In the field of theology, I think about how to adapt confessional dogmatics to contemporary experience, i.e. translating Augustine & Calvin into postmodernity. I am also very well versed in the theology of Jürgen Moltmann.
My dissertation looks at the complicated relationship of conservative Christians and the pluralistic society they find themselves in – particularly I’m trying to figure out how to invite a conservative Christian voice into productive interfaith dialogue.
I’m fairly busy with life and studies, so, if I were you, I wouldn’t expect too much out of the blog portion of this site; that said, I may post things at random intervals and volumes. The primary purpose of this site is for folk like you to learn more about me and my interests.
If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact me.
Grace & Peace,
